Hey Friends! I'm Charla Storey, a Fine Art Photographer. I specialize in real weddings, editorials and mentoring. I am based out of Texas and travel all over the world to document stories.

When I was 19 and looking for my first job, and no one wanted to hire me (I guess 19 is a bit old to just be joining the workforce), the first Job I was offered was a photographer in a children’s photography studio in the mall. It didn’t take long for me to go from a part-time photographer to full-time, full-time to assistant manager, assistant manager to studio manager, studio manager to district manager, and eventually, district manager to regional trainer. I was the youngest person in the company's history to be promoted to the executive team! My responsibility ranged from being financially responsible for millions of dollars, writing the training manual for the entire company, quality control of photography for our entire staff, managing the customer experience, creating consistency, training managers as well as photographers from start to finish, and visiting photographers all over the nation to teach, encourage and inspire them - which included presenting on stage at national meetings (on a Jumbotron yall, talk about nervous!). In 2010 my beloved company went out of business, so I started to branch off and do my own thing, which was photographing families. In 2012, after being talked into shooting a few weddings, I fell in love and rebranded with a focus on Fine Art Weddings. Now I’m here to teach and share with you my experience both as a photographer and as a woman in business. I cannot wait to meet everyone!

Things I'm bad at

  • Waking up early, anything before 10 am is a struggle. My brain no worky.
  • Work/life balance, I still have moments of weakness and struggle to say no. FOMO is real!
  • Cleaning, I get caught up dancing instead. Sue me.
  • Not talking. I have a huge word quota to meet each day, it's intense.

Things you probably don't know about me

  • I tried out for American Ninja warrior and I love lifting. I got a few call backs, but didn't make it. I did get asked to train in a video and return next year. So basically I am the next ANW. I am in the gym 5 days a week, bruh.
  • I have been a beginner guitar player for 20 years. My family is great at it. My grandfather actually sold Chuck Berry a song back in the 60's!
  • I was a Teen Mom before MTV made it "cool", and I am pretty damn good at it if you ask me. My son starts college in the fall. I am 34. We are best friends.
  • My current husband was a groomsman in my first wedding! Long story, I would be happy to tell it to you in November. Also my husband and I share the same birthday. Same day, same year, same state...and same hospital, we might be separated at birth. (I Kid! Only about the hospital part though, we really do share the same birthday! I also see now that that last part was a gross joke and I do sincerely apologize. I am so sorry.)
